Endocrine Pathology Working Group

Diseases of the endocrine organs

As pathologists, our primary responsibility is to provide an accurate diagnosis based on surgical tissue samples. We examine specimens from the thyroid, parathyroid glands, adrenal glands, and neuroendocrine tumors. Using microscopic examination along with additional techniques—such as immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology—we are able to make precise diagnoses. These serve as the essential basis for the treatment decisions made by the caring doctors.

For thyroid and parathyroid diseases, we operate a specialized reference center. Physicians from other hospitals or practices can consult us for second opinions or expert advice in particularly challenging or unclear cases.

In addition to diagnostics, our research focuses mainly on the thyroid gland. Through case studies and scientific research, we aim to better understand how thyroid tumors develop and progress. Thanks to our extensive archive of reference pathology cases, we have access to large numbers of cases—including rare tumor types—for detailed study. Molecular pathology, a field that has become increasingly important in recent years, plays a key role in helping us analyze and classify tumors more precisely and understand microscopic findings in a broader medical context.
